Price is per yard. Total available presently: 3.3yards left (Yards in photo was the ORIGINAL yards) Based on Chinese antique design, Scalamandre revived this classic silk damask to perfection. The remnant of the antique was probably discovered in Nashville, US. Unlike “Chinoiserie” by Europeans, Nashville, in spite of its English name, is actually from China. The large peony blossom overflowing the bamboo basket and the silk tassels hanging from the bottom of the basket, faithfully portrays flower arrangement for celebration in ancient China. The point of curiosity is the pair of “wings” atop the basket. Those are actually a bat! Bat (蝠)has the same pronunciation as 福 (blessing) thus bats are the symbol for good blessing. One of the perfect examples of “Good designs are forever”, Nashville’s pattern has been rendered by many modern artists and in wide range of colors. Fully reversible. Iridescent.
